How to find reverse links to your website

There are a couple of ways to find reverse links to your website.

1. Google link

Example:   link:cnn.com

That will return backlinks to cnn.com.

However, the link command only returns a small fraction of the backlinks that Google knows about, and it’s randomly picked, so Google link command isn’t that useful for reverse link lookup.

2. Yahoo linkdomain

Example: linkdomain:cnn.com

That will show external links to cnn.com site, whether they start with www or not, and all pages with links to the site that Yahoo has found.

3.  Google webmaster tool

Now you can use webmaster tools to view a much larger sample of links to pages on your site that Google found on the web. Unlike the link: command, this data is much more comprehensive and can be classified, filtered, and downloaded. Before see this information, you have to verify the ownership of your site.
